Summary: O jiló (Solanum aethiopicum L.) e a berinjela (Solanum melongena L.) pertencem à família Solanaceae e são típicas de regiões tropicais. São cultivados, principalmente em pequenas propriedades em sistema de monocultivo, fator que favorece a incidência de insetos-praga. Em uma propriedade rural, no município de Paraíso do Tocantins, TO foram verificadas duas espécies de coleópteros atacando cultivos comerciais de jiló e berinjela.
