BRS Jade is a light brown-colored cultivar with high fiber yield potential (approximately 41%) and high productivity, exceeding 4500 kg/ha. The cultivar has high yield potential in the Cerrado and Semi-arid environments and good fiber characteristics, with 28.6 mm of fiber length, 83.7% uniformity, and tenacity of 29.2gf/tex. It is resistant to bacterial blight (Xanthomonas citri subsp. malvacearum), moderately resistant to common mosaic (Abutilon mosaic virus – AbMV) and moderately susceptible to ramularia leaf spot (Ramularia areola).

Economic Benefit
The technology has a lot of potential to expand into other cotton cultivation areas. The market is still small, but clothes made of naturally colored cotton are gaining momentum in Brazil and abroad.
