Mini-curriculum

Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1993), Master in Animal Science from the Federal University of Santa Maria (2000), Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition from the Federal University of Viçosa (2004) and post-doctorate from the University of São Paulo ( 2006). He is a researcher at Embrapa Cerrados, working in the area of Animal Nutrition and Production, executing projects that involve the performance of beef cattle in feedlots and in pastures with supplementation, in order to reduce the age at slaughter and at first calving. He also develops projects that seek to obtain high quality corn silage, with a focus on fiber digestibility and feed intake. It participates, at the Animal Performance Center, in a team dedicated to the genetic improvement of zebu cattle, conducts Food Efficiency tests (Residual Feed Intake) and acts in the nutrition of animals in pasture Performance Tests, in addition to being responsible for nutrition actions from the Nellore BRGN herd, belonging to Embrapa Cerrados. In another line, he works to obtain phenotypes with the objective of expanding the database in the validation of molecular markers for tenderness and meat quality in zebu cattle.
