Banana BRS Vitória

Photo: VALE, Alessandra
One of the main characteristics of BRS Vitória is its resistance to black Sigatoka, yellow Sigatoka and Fusarium wilt (Panama disease). The cultivar has good tillering, good development and produces fruits of excellent appearance and quality, with a sweet flavor and reduced acidity compared to the fruits of the Prata Comum cultivar.
It is also resistant to post-harvest anthracnose, which gives it a longer shelf life, making it more attractive from a commercial point of view. It was initially recommended for the state of Espírito Santo in 2005, where it continues to be widely planted, and presented vigorous plants, which can be grown in the same spacing and following the same technical recommendations as Prata.
This technological solution was developed by Embrapa in partnership with other institution(s).
